Community Engagement Manager (Full-time)

This position will work across the entire organization (including our 3 pillars of Production, Theater Academy and Theater In Education) to further First Stage’s involvement with community based organizations, with the objective of increasing access to our transformative programming to more children and families. The qualified candidate will have a unique opportunity to shape the direction of First Stage’s interaction with a broad range of community based organizations.

Family Partnership Coordinator (Part-time)

The Family Partnership Coordinator's primary objective is to provide necessary assistance to students and families who are in need of financial assistance to attend Academy programming. In order to obtain this objective the FPC will do administrative tasks, community building, and have significant contact with students, parents and teachers. The FPC will target youth in all locations the Academy provides programming.

Community Learning Center 
Program Facilitators

This year First Stage received a five-year 21st Century Community Learning Center grant through the Department of Public Instruction to serve as a lead agency for an after school program at Kluge Elementary (MPS) starting in the Fall of 2015.  The goal behind a CLC program is to provide after school enrichment that combines recreation and academic support for all students and their families in the community. 

 First Stage anticipates serving 60-80 students in K5-5th grade at Kluge on a daily basis for 4-5 days per week, from September through May.  First Stage will facilitate progressive theater sessions similar to those offered in the Theater Academy and in Theater in Education, and will support additional programs including: small group tutoring, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, Lego Club, Girls on the Run, LitART, and more. 

First Stage seeks seasonal full-time and hourly positions to run the CLC at Kluge. Please see the  job descriptions below:

Site Coordinator, Kluge School Community Learning Center
(Full time, 9-month contract and will report to CLC Program Managers)

The Site Coordinator’s primary objective is to execute the CLC requirements specified by the 21st CenturyCommunity Learning Center grant and Milwaukee Recreation, to provide administrative support andoversee the daily functions of the CLC at Kluge. The Site Coordinator must believe in the mission of FirstStage, to transform lives through theater, and work to create a safe, welcoming, inspiring and motivatingafter school environment for students, teachers and parents.

Wardrobe Assistant
The Wardrobe Assistant’s main responsibilities will be assisting the Wardrobe Supervisor in creating change tracks, running all performances, maintaining costumes, and handling all laundry needs for the entire run. Applicants must be available for every performance and must have own transportation to and from the theatre. This position will be working directly with and actively supervising Young Performers backstage. Applicants must possess a positive back stage demeanor and work well with actors and backstage crew. Prior costume and or wardrobe experience and strong sewing skills are required.
