Wardrobe Assistant

First Stage is seeking a self-motivated, qualified Wardrobe Assistant for its upcoming 2017/2018 season. 

The Wardrobe Assistant’s main responsibilities will be assisting the Wardrobe Supervisor in creating change tracks, running all performances, maintaining costumes, and handling all laundry needs for the entire run. Applicants must be available for every performance and must have own transportation to and from the theater. This position will be working directly with, and actively supervising, Young Performers backstage. Applicants must possess a positive backstage demeanor and work well with both adult and young performer actors and backstage crew. Prior costume and/or wardrobe experience and strong sewing skills are required.

Scenic Charge Artist

Summer Academy & Education positions
Teaching Artists, Apprentices, Directors and Office Staff are encouraged to apply for positions June-August 2017 in Academy and Education.  

The First Stage Theater Academy is one of the nation’s leading theater training programs for young people with a mission to foster life skills through stage skills while creating an inspiring, welcoming environment that encourages each student to take his or her next steps as an artist and a person. Through theater activities we aim to support students in their social, emotional and creative growth.

First Stage’s Theater in Education programs aim to incite young people’s desire for learning and help classroom teachers explore curriculum using interactive, imaginative and integrated methods. Through theater productions, classroom workshops and residencies, First Stage encourages students to experience their world differently and find new connections to their school curriculum.

Community Learning Center Program Teaching Artist
This position is hourly and will report to the CLC Site Coordinator and Student Dean

The Program Teaching Artist position teaches Academy and arts-integrated theater classes and provides academic and recreation program support for the CLC at Kluge.  The Program Teaching Artist must believe in the mission of First Stage, to transform lives through theater, and work to create a safe, welcoming, inspiring and motivating after school environment for students, teachers and parents.
