HAUNTED SCREENS: INNOVATION AND EXPRESSION FROM SCREEN TO STAGE

Experience a sense of cinematic wonder, intrigue, and drama through the masterworks of German Expressionist Cinema. Explore the 1920s and the aesthetics of film through a docent-led tour of the Haunted Screens: German Cinema in the 1920s exhibition. Students will then be joined by First Stage Teaching Artists as they create their own piece of cinematic art and actively explore this film genre and the unique characteristics that set German Expressionist Cinema apart.

Explore dynamic portraits and avant-garde landscapes, and genre paintings through a docent led tour of the Museum’s feature exhibition, Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller: Master of the Austrian Avant-Garde. Afterwards, students will be joined by First Stage Teaching Artists and actively engage in the stories, characters and perspectives depicted in these works of art.
