School Year Theater Academy

First Stage Theater Academy is the nation’s largest high impact theater training program for young people!

Imagine a place where students of all ages coming together to make new friends, practice new skills, and let their individuality shine! Our professional staff teaches life skills through stage skills through engaging, high impact acting curriculum - available only at First Stage! Students and faculty work together to create a positive, safe learning environment where each student is encouraged to take risks, conquer their fears, and become leaders.

COST

  • Sessions start at $160. Tuition includes all class materials and one Academy t-shirt per students.  Explore our course catalog for specific classes and prices.
  • Financial assistance is available to any student; awards are need-based. Learn more about our financial assistance program and how to apply.

REGISTRATION TIPS

  • Register online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Please have your schedule, child’s emergency contact information, and any pertinent medical information available.

Next Steps Acting Class for students on the Autism Spectrum

Next Steps Acting Class for students on the Autism Spectrum Grades: 3-12 Time: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, but will only be one hour long. Exact times TBA Start Date: February 3 End Date: March 10 Next Steps classes are designed to help students with autism take their next steps as an artist and a person. First Stage creates a safe space for all students to be creative and be themselves without judgment or fear of failure. Guided by our philosophy of teaching life skills through stage skills, students will experience the joy of acting, music, and movement each day with a team of teaching artists and special education professionals. In this Acting class, students will explore character, relationships, action and text while developing overall acting skills and confidence. Class Sizes: 8 students; our classroom model includes teams of lead teachers, special education professionals, and teaching assistants with approximately a 2:1 student to teacher ratio. Family aides may accompany a student to class as necessary and agreed upon between the family and First Stage.
