Artwork on Display

First Stage has exhibits student artwork in the Todd Wehr Theater lobby. Teachers use First Stage plays as a springboard for creative arts projects, and the students love seeing their art when they come to the theater.

Artwork Specifications:

  • Flat pieces should be mounted on construction paper.
  • A white label should be attached to the lower right-hand corner, indicating the student's name, school name, teacher's name and grade level.
  • Three-dimensional hanging pieces should be appropriately labeled and must be equipped with hanging apparatus. We wire the pieces.

Artwork needs to be submitted one week before a show's opening. Please deliver the art to the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, Attn: Michael Warren, prior to the scheduled hanging date.  Please include an inventory sheet with the artwork.

It is the teacher’s responsibility to call ahead to arrange a drop-off and pick-up time. Unless arrangements for pick-up have been made, artwork will be disposed of three weeks after the show ends.

To display your classroom’s artwork during a First Stage production, e-mail workshops@firststage.org  or call the Theater in Education department at (414) 267-2978 to make arrangements.
