Interships are offered for qualified student candidates. Internships are unpaid, but available for college credit or other benefits, as available.

Development Intern

First Stage seeks Development intern for the Fall, Winter and/or Spring semesters. (Full academic school-year agreement with possible extension into the summer depending on candidate.)

The Development intern will work closely with all 5 members of the Development team and will report to the Grants Manager. Intern projects will be related to donor correspondence and solicitation, prospect research, and other non-profit fundraising activities such as extra events, database management, and writing. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in donor development and relationship building, the planning and execution of events, and fundraising; all critical components of the long-term viability of any non-profit organization.

Special Events Intern

First Stage is seeking a Special Events Intern for fall 2017, with the potential of extending the internship through spring 2018.

The Special Events Intern will work closely with all 5 members of the Development team and will report to the Special Events Manager. Intern projects will be related to special event fundraising and all aspects of event logistics. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in non-profit/special event management as well as donor development and relationship building, and fundraising; all critical components of the long-term viability of any non-profit organization. This internship is best for the student working towards a degree in fundraising, events management, communications, English, arts administration or non-profit management.  While supervision and direction is readily available, the intern will be expected to be a self-starter and able to work independently.

Marketing & Public Relations Intern

First Stage seeks a Marketing & Public Relations intern for fall 2017, with the potential of extending the internship through spring 2018.

This internship will provide experience in writing blog posts, press releases, articles, ad copy and other company communications materials; web, email and social media; research; and other projects as assigned. Some clerical work and data entry will be required. The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with First Stage staff, learning the various strategies needed in promoting a successful theater company.
