Please note that First Stage Children's Theater has two performance spaces!

First Steps performances of IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE and IF YOU TAKE A MOUSE TO SCHOOL are held at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center. Click here for directions.

Performances of JUNIE B. JONES, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, THE THIEF LORD, THE WIZ, and ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY are in the intimate 500-seat Todd Wehr Theater, conveniently located downtown in Milwaukee's Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 929 North Water Street, on the corner of Water and State Streets. Use the Riverwalk entrance.

From the north: Take I-43 south. Take Exit 73A Fond du Lac/McKinley Avenue ramp. Turn left onto McKinley Avenue (eastbound). Cross the river, then turn right onto Water Street. For the parking structure, turn right onto State Street. Parking structure is on the right.

From the south: Take I-94/I-43 north. Take Exit 73A Fond du Lac/McKinley Avenue ramp. Turn right onto McKinley Avenue (eastbound). Cross the river, then turn right onto Water Street. For the parking structure, turn right onto State Street. Parking structure is on the right.

From the west: Take I-94 heading east. Take I-43 northbound ramp on your right. Take the Kilbourn Avenue exit ramp. Turn slight right onto West Kilbourn Avenue. Continue onto East Kilbourn Avenue over the bridge to Water Street. Make a left turn onto Water Street. For the parking structure, make a left turn onto State Street. Parking structure is on the right.

Parking is available in the Marcus Center Parking Garage, directly across the street from the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, for reasonable event rates. Other lots surrounding the Marcus Center are also available.

All First Steps performances take place at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W. Walnut Street, Milwaukee, 53212.

From the North: Take I-43 South to McKinley Avenue. Go east, or left on McKinley. Continue to 4th Street and turn left. At the top of the hill (Walnut St.), turn right. Milwaukee Youth Arts Center is on your right.

From the South: Take I-43 North to McKinley Avenue. Go east, or right on McKinley. Continue to 4th Street and turn left. At the top of the hill (Walnut St.), turn right. Milwaukee Youth Arts Center is on your right.

From the West: Take I-94 East to I-43 North and exit at the Kilbourn Ave. tunnel. Continue to 4th Street and turn left. At the top of the hill (Walnut St.), turn right. Milwaukee Youth Arts Center is on your right.

Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to MYAC. Spaces are limited. If you are using the area as a drop-off / pick up point, please try not to block the flow of traffic, and move as soon as possible to a parking space. Street parking available within a close walk of the offices. The Schlitz Park ramp is available after 5 pm.
