ED 501  Methods of Utilizing Theater Arts in the Traditional Curriculum   

A three-credit Professional Development course in collaboration with First Stage and Cardinal Stritch University.  The course includes afterschool sessions that take place at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, plus field trip opportunities for your students and arts-integrated workshops that take place in your classroom.

Throughout the year, participants in this course will: 
  • Learn to successfully incorporate theater teaching strategies into their non-theater content units and lessons.
  • Have the opportunity to strengthen their skills in facilitating drama with youth in grades K4-8 through classroom simulations and fieldwork.
  • Witness firsthand the benefits of student participation in theater arts by attending First Stage productions with their class and hosting First Stage Teaching Artists in their classroom.

COURSE FEE:  $175/credit
