Multi-Cultural Assembly Tour
February and March 2010
By José Cruz Gonzáles Based on the book by Pat Mora
Unable to read English, Tomás, a migrant boy, is terrified of school. When his family heads North for the harvest, he finds a refuge that may help ease his fears - the library. The compassionate Library Lady introduces Tomás to the fun and magic found in the pages of a good book. First Stage is pleased to continue its tradition of providing a Multi-Cultural School Assembly Tour for area schools with TOMÁS AND THE LIBRARY LADY. This popular program is designed to aid educators in providing arts experiences for their students, as well as to provide a forum for multi-cultural awareness.
