Theatrical Designers

Contract

First Stage seeks theatrical designers (Scenic, Costume, Lighting & Sound) for upcoming seasons. First Stage produces in the 494 seat Todd Wehr Theater at the Marcus Performing Arts Center (3/4 thrust) and the 142 seat Goodman Mainstage Hall at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center (in the round). As a member of the creative team, you will work closely with the Director, Artistic Director, fellow designers, and the Production Department to develop the world of play. These positions require the ability to work collaboratively, think creatively, meet deadlines, and have an appreciation for theater and the performing arts. While experience working with young people is not a requirement, First Stage does practice age-appropriate casting and therefore a desire to and respect for working with youth is needed. House Manager & Patron Services Associate

Part-Time, Seasonal

First Stage seeks a House Manager & Patron Service Associate to provide our audiences with a welcoming, positive, and memorable theater experience. As a member of our dynamic team, you will deliver exceptional customer service through Front of House Management for First Stage’s school (weekday matinee) and public (evening and weekend) performances at the Marcus Performing Arts Center and the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center (MYAC), and onsite ticketing services for public performances at MYAC. This position requires evening and weekend hours, a friendly demeanor, quick and confident problem-solving skills, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods, and enthusiasm for theater and the performing arts. Technical Director

Full Time, Exempt

The Technical Director is responsible for the realization of all scenic elements. They will determine technical  requirements from designs, estimate material and labor costs, and communicate needs and processes to staff and crews. The Technical Director will work closely with scenic designers, fellow department heads, and vendors in addition to leading a three person scene shop team. First Stage puts on 8 to 10 productions each season with varying levels of scene shop support between two theaters: a 494 seat ¾ thrust, and a 142 seat theater in the round. Learn more and apply.
