First Stage Theater Academy is accepting applications for an Administrative Intern for Winter and/or Spring 2012. This internship offers a rich and challenging experience for qualified college students and recent graduates who are actively pursuing careers in professional theater administration. The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the Academy Services Manager, the Academy Administrative Director and other First Stage staff, learning and executing the various administrative needs of the nation's largest theater training program for young people. MPS Arts Intership with the Theater Academy This internship will support the Theater Academy during high programming days. Duties will include assisting in classroom preparation, greeting parents and students, serving as a teaching assistant as necessary and other administrative duties as needed. Marketing & Public Relations Internship
First Stage seeks a Marketing & Public Relations intern throughout the year. This internship will provide experience in writing press releases, ad copy and other company communications materials; web, email and social media; research; and other projects as assigned. Some clerical work and data entry will be required.
The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the Marketing & Public Relations Director, Communications Manager and other First Stage staff, learning the various strategies needed in promoting a successful theater company.
The qualified candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills. This internship is best for the student working towards a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, arts administration or non-profit management. While supervision and direction is readily available, the intern will be expected to be a self-starter and able to work independently.
This internship is unpaid. A mutually agreed upon schedule will be determined to meet the needs of both First Stage and the intern.
