The Little Engine That Could

What better way to learn about a play than to be in the play? Well, not exactly "in" the play, but pretty darn close. Our First Steps Series is an interactive theater experience that introduces children from ages three to six to the theater in a fun and exciting way.

The First Steps shows take place in the Main Stage Hall at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center at 325 W. Walnut Street in Milwaukee.

January 29 - February 13, 2011

By Watty Piper
Adapted for the stage by James Larson
Music and lyrics by Stuart Kenny

Note: Most appreciated by children ages three to six.

Synopsis:
A train full of toys is waiting to go to the good little girls and boys on the other side of the imposing mountain.  But who will get it there?  The Little Blue Engine may be the smallest, but it's the only train willing to step up to the task.  Now your little ones will learn the value of perseverance and self-confidence as they watch, hope, and help cheer the Little Engine over that mountain.
