Unless otherwise noted, all roles open to all backgrounds and abilities.

Greg Heffley – Male. Age 12. Greg's actions can be antagonistic at times, including terrorizing kids, picking on other students. He can also be a very bad friend. However, he also demonstrates a degree of kindness in some of his actions. He helps his brother with his homework, gets his friend a date for a dance, and forgives his friends.

Rodrick Heffley – Male. Age 16. Greg’s older brother and member of the heavy metal band Löded Diaper. Generally an antagonist for his younger brother with occasional soft spots

Manny Heffley – Male. Age 3. Constantly spoiled and pampered by his parents. Bright.

Rowley Jefferson – Male. Age 12. Greg’s best friend. Rowley has what Greg considers strange interests for his age and gender, such as loving a singer for "six-year-old girls" named Joshie and action figures Greg believes are for younger kids.

Chirag Gupta – Open to any gender identity. Indian ancestry. Age 10-12. One of Greg’s friends and the victim of a running joke. Ultimately Chirag forgives Greg.

Joshie/Teen Ensemble – Male. Age 15-18. A European singer who is Rowley's favorite idol. Greg believes that Joshie is for six-year-old girls. 

Patty Farrell – Female. Age 12. A rival of Greg. Hardworking, sanctimonious, demanding.

Charlie Davies – Male. Age 12. In the 50s on the popularity list, a spot above Greg. Greg says that he will move up a spot due to Charlie getting braces in a week. Greg says that he is a very kind kid, this might hint why he is a spot ahead.

Yvette, Tween Girl – Female. Supporter of Patty Farrell. Age 11-15.

Pauline, Tween Girl– Female. Supporter of Patty Farrell. Age 11-15.

Claire, Tween Girl – female. Supporter of Patty Farrell. 11-15

Fregley, Tween – Open to any gender identity. Age 10-12. Greg's acquaintance and neighbor noted for his many odd or disgusting eccentricities. He has been known to perplex others with his behavior and does not have any known friends.

Chris Hossey, Tween Boy – Male. Classmate of Greg’s. Age 12. His older brother is rumored to have chased Greg down on Halloween

Lionel James, Tween Boy – Male. Classmate of Greg’s. Age 13-14. Along with Chris, Greg refers to them both as morons.

Bryce, Overgrown Kid – Male. Age 12-14. The most popular kid in Greg's grade. He is adored by the girls in the school, despite only becoming interested in them in the last couple of years (he used to call them "stinky poos" in elementary school). Bryce has a group of cronies who are always loyal to him and often help out on his projects.
