THE FORGOTTEN GIRL

On a cold winter night, Iris and her best friend, Daniel, play in the freshly fallen snow in the woods when they stumble upon the gravestone of a young girl, Avery Moore. Strange things begin to happen, and Iris and Daniel research the area to find answers. They learn of their town’s history of segregation, and become determined to restore Avery’s grave and pay proper respect for her and others buried there. A ghostly tale with a historical twist, this empowering tale examines the connection of past and present, friendship, and forgiveness.

Wednesdays through Fridays at 4PM-8:30PM
Saturdays at 12:30PM-4PM or 5PM-8:30PM
Sundays 10AM-1:30PM or 2:30PM-6PM

Performance Dates
There will be two casts of Young Performers performing on alternating dates, Wednesday through Sunday.
October 20 - November 12, 2023, with a potential extension through November 19, 2023
Casting Needs
Iris - Black. Female. 12. Strong and smart, but feels overlooked at school and at home. Daniel is her best friend.
Daniel - Black. Male. 12. Iris’ best friend. His father has recently passed, and it is clear he is struggling with the loss.
Vashti - Black. Female. 5-7. Iris’ little sister. Spoiled, but it’s not her fault. Looks up to her big sister.
Avery - Black. Female. 12-14. A ghost with a tragic end and a strong desire to be remembered/to feel less alone.
Heather - Open to any background. Female. 12. Editor of the school newspaper. Self-important. A Queen Bee.
Classmate - Open to any background or gender identity. 12. Part of Heather’s entourage. A follower.
Additional Classmates/Ensemble (2-4 young performers): Open to any background or gender identity. Ages 12-15. Looking for strong movers as these folks (in addition to Heather and Classmate) will be our Shadows who help move set elements as needed creating the magic and spookiness inherent for the show.
