Story Drama for grades K4 - 1

Bring exciting tales to life through dramatic play! Young people begin to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.

Choose from AM Story Drama* (9:30-11:45am) or PM Story Drama (12:45-3:00pm) each week. 
*Before-care is available from 9:00-9:30am. 

Week 1

June 13-17, 2022

"Won't You Be My Neighbor"

Join Daniel, Prince Wednesday, Katerina Kittycat and the rest of their friends on a Grr-ific adventure. Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.

June 20-24, 2022

"All About Bluey"

Join Bluey, Bingo, and the rest of their friends in a week long game of imaginative play! Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.  

Week 3

June 24 - July 1

"Fractured Fairy Tales"

Is the Big Bad Wolf really a bad guy? What really happened to Humpty Dumpty? Did Cinderella need the prince to save her? Jump into your favorite fairy tales, and explore fun twists and turns in these fractured fairy tales. Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.

Week 4

July 5-8, 2022

"A Neighborhood of Imagination"

Explore the books of author Matt de la Pena (The Last Stop on Market Street, Carmela Full of Wishes, and more), to discover neighborhoods full of rhythm, color, and fun! Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.  

Week 5

July 11-15, 2022

"Have Wheels? Will Travel!"

Trains, planes and cars, oh my! Explore beloved stories about things that go. Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.  

Week 6

July 18-22, 2-22

"A Clue! A Clue!"

Step into Blue's house and work together to solve a mystery. Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems. 

Week 7

July 25-29, 2022

"Amazing Artists"

Discover all kinds of art- poetry, sculptures, painters, and more! Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.   

Week 8

August 1-5, 2022

"Everyday Heroes"

Travel through your community and learn about everyday heroes- firefighters, nurses, and more! Young people will have the opportunity to develop their actor tools of body, voice, and imagination by actively engaging in creative play, all while strengthening their ability to focus, cooperate with others, and solve problems.
