CAREERS
Be a part of one of the nation’s leading theaters for young audiences and families! First Stage touches hearts, engages minds, and transforms lives by creating extraordinary theater experiences for young people and families through professional Theater Productions, unparalleled Theater Academy training, and dynamic Theater in Education programs.
First Stage is committed to broadening the reach and impact of our transformational programs, thus enabling dreams to be fulfilled, hope to be fostered, and families to enjoy the lasting legacy of a profound shared experience.
AUDITIONS
First Stage is an Equity Theater for Young Audiences committed to age-appropriate casting. We cast a combination of Equity and non-Equity performers in all adult roles.
Young performers are cast in all roles that call for young people. Our use of young performers with proper training and direction creates a production that rings more true and honest, and
audience members can connect with our productions more strongly. In addition, young people working alongside adult professionals not only enhance the play, but also benefit greatly in terms
of their own personal development.
INTERNSHIPS
Theater Academy Internships are available for students eighth grade and up. Our interns play an essential role in the day-to-day life of the Academy, serving as role models for younger students, assisting teaching artists in the classroom, and supporting administrative and office needs. Internships are unpaid — students may earn Academy credits.
In addition to Academy Internships, occasional opportunities may be available in other areas at First Stage, with placements tailored to students who demonstrate strong interest and initiative.

VOLUNTEERS
We are always looking for volunteers to help in the lobby at our evening and weekend performances! Volunteer duties may include scanning tickets, distributing programs, or selling
concessions and merchandise before the performance and during intermission.
Plus, when you volunteer at a First Stage show, you get to see the show for free as space allows! Discounted parking available.
If you're interested in volunteering, please email our Front of House Operations Manager, Rachael Sieminski, at rsieminski@firststage.org.
